The chairperson of the Council was appointed by President Karzai’s brother, Shah Wali Karzai, who asked all representatives of people in the province to announce their support from Syed Jan Khakrizwal Haji Sayed Jan Khakrezwal’s candidacy and vote for him. (20130210)
Deputy council chief Mohammad Ihsan Noorzai, who ran the office affairs as acting head, was elected PC Chairman in the presence of the governor, his deputy and representatives of the human rights commission. Rahmatullah was elected as deputy chief and Hafizullah as secretary. (20120414)

1 – Haji Syed Jan Khakrezwal: Son of Haji Abdul Ghafar, Haji Syed Jan Khakrezwal is born in the Khakrz District of southern Kandahar Province in 1962. Hailing from Popalzai tribe, Khakrezwal is director of Kandahar provincial council. He has no political affiliation.
