Afghan Bios is a private, independent, non-profit database covering prominent Afghan personalities and groups, with a particular focus on the period since the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021.
Find information on ministers, governors, political figures, military and police commanders, and other influential individuals. Entries include career histories, affiliations, ethnic backgrounds and other biographical details, where available.
The database covers key figures in government, the judiciary, the economy, infrastructure and public life. Relevant earlier biographies provide historical context.

Information is compiled from international media, online research and the author’s personal contacts with people from Afghanistan.
