Ph.D., Associate Director Dr. Shah Mohammad Sargand Shad Mohammad Sargand was born in Afghanistan 1954. Mir Haris Ansari--the son-in-law of senior Ghani-adviser Shad Mohammad Sargand. The daughter of Shad Mohammad Sargand, who is the wife of Ansari, lives in the United States. A native of Afghanistan, Sargand has also served as a volunteer liaison with Afghani universities and development officials to promote civil engineering education and encourage rebuilding of infrastructure in his home country's major cities. He has consulted extensively on reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan over the past decade.
But a document shows that the university won a contract from Afghanistan’s Public Works (now merged with the Transportation Ministry) for a project worth $1.8 million, and-- documents show-- Sargand earned $75,000 dollars per year, for two years, as the contract was implemented, all while serving as Ghani’s adviser. |
