3. Biodata:
Mrs. Mariam Sulaimankhel Mariam Solaimankhail Mariam Sulaimankhil was born 1984 in California, USA. Later she lived in Los Angeles. She migrated to Afghanistan in 2013. It  is rumored that she or her mother have a somehow distant link (relative?) to President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.

Solaimankhail claimed she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication in 2007. Prior to entering Afghan parliament, she said she served as the head of the International Relations division of President’s Office of Administrative Affairs. She also claimed  to have served as a senior advisor to the Ministry of Mines. Solaimankhail is an ethnic Pashtun from sub-tribe of the Ghilji tribe of Bettani confederation of Pashtuns. It is the first time she entered the House of Representatives. She doesn’t hold membership in political parties and has been an independent candidate from Kuchi’s zone.

She received 839 votes in 2018 Wolesi Jirga election and got a seat in WJ 2018. Sulaimankhel, a candidate for the nomadic Kochi minority who have 10 reserved seats, said that along with many Kochis in Kabul, she had been unable to vote because officials did not have the lists with their names.(20181021)
