3. Biodata:
Mrs. Hasina Safi was born 1975, in Laghman province. She is the daughter of Abdul Rahim Jalali. Safi completed her primary education in Nahid Shaheed School and secondary in Malalay High School and graduated from Law and Political Sciences at the Tolo-e-Aftab Private University.

Her passion for supporting women made her choose teaching as her first profession when she was just 15-years old and at this time she started serving Afghan women refugees as librarian in Pakistan and then, worked as teacher, trainer, senior trainer and director at the national and international institutions (Najiat International Committee, Kentary Grammar School, DACAAR, Migration International Institution, Afghan Women Education Center, UNDP, Afghan Women Network (AWN) as well as an active member of High Peace Council).

She is a supporter of education; she believes education is the key solution towards the sustainability of a nation. 

Based on a decree issued by President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hassena Safi was introduced as nominate and acting minister for Ministry of Information and Culture to Wolesi Jirga.(20180615)

Hasina Safi, nominee for the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, came up short with 119 out of 248 votes and thus was not approved by the Afghan parliament.(20201130) It is rumored that Safi was rejected because she had refrained from buying votes in the parliament and had relied on her merits. There has been no reaction from Safi herself.


Hasina Safi  is a mother of three children.

She speaks Dari, Pashtu and English.
