Mohammad Fahim Rahimi received his bachelor's degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from Kabul University (2002-2005) in 2005. In addition, he had completed coursework in heritage preservation and curatorial studies at Vienna University and at the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property in Rome. Fahim was selected in the spring of 2014 as a junior fellow of the Kolb Society. He was a Fulbright Scholar, and he was pursuing a master's degree in Anthropology and Heritage Preservation at Penn. The director of the National Museum, Mohammad Fahim Rahimi, saw encouraging signs from the Taliban in August shortly after the group stormed into Kabul. With no international or Afghan security forces to guard the museum, Rahimi called on the Taliban to guard the priceless ancient treasures from looters. (20211110)
