Abdul Qadir Wahidi is a former senior security official under the Taliban regime who claims to have reported directly to Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar. A shadowy figure, Wahidi is rarely in Ghazni and spends much of his time in Pakistan meeting with Afghan insurgent leaders based there, officials and residents said.(20111103)

Abdul Qadir Wahidi, also known as Abu Ibrahim Khurasani, purported as the former advisor to the acting governor of Ghazni, has confessed during the initial investigations that he was the spokesman for Daesh  (ISIS) group after the National Directorate of Security (NDS) detained him about two months ago from Kabul, NDS official said. Wahidi has admitted that he had served in the Taliban regime's intelligence service. Ghazni's caretaker governor Mohammad Musa Akbarzada had recommend Wahidi as cooperator and observer for provincial projects. Wahidi has claimed that he was partner with Ghazni Govenor Akbarzada in each projects, from which, he lifted 20 percent interests, something rejected by Akbarzada as baseless. Akbarzada said that Wahidi had no official position in the province and had no affiliation with Daesh. Akbarzada said. "We have documents that this person has been involved in land usurpations and other crimes."  Wahidi has claimed that he was arrested from Kabul after he came to the city under the pretext of peace talks and by the instruction of Akbarzada. Meanwhile, a member of provincial peace council, Khalil Hotak, has said that Wahidi was a broker and had been accused of kidnapping the head of Ghazni's transport department 2014. According to NDS, Wahidi, who is now sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment on the charges of acting as Daesh spokesman, was transferred from Kabul to Ghazni by the instruction of Akbarzada. Also, a video which had been sent to some of the media outlets, showed him purporting to be a spokesman for Daesh in which he also claimed the responsibility for executing Taliban members last year in Nuristan province.(20150213)
