Background:

Afghanistan Industrial Union officials said the domestic industries are unable to meet the country’s domestic needs until the government supports the domestic manufacturing sector and provides full access to electricity.

The association officials said currently (20120605), in addition to energy shortages in the industrial parks in Kabul, the factories in Kandahar and Jalalabad are also deprived of electricity.
