The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on 20130922 announced that Bismillah Sher, the leader of the Wefaq Millie Party (WMP), along with Abdul Karim Ahmadyar and Sultan Hameed Sultani have filed their nomination for Presidency on the seventh day of the candidates' registration process.

Bismillah Shir the first candidate for presidential election 2014 was candidate in 2009 as well and he got 4,550 Votes.

On 20130916, head of Wefaq Milli Afghanistan [Afghanistan National Unity Party], Bismillah Shir accused the United States and its allies of exercising double standards towards Afghanistan. He noted that US forces have not been deployed to Afghanistan in order to fight against Taliban militants, but rather Washington is pursuing its own interests there and in the region.
