Afghan finance minister, Hazrat Omer Zakhilwal  disclosed the names of Wolesi Jirga Members involved in illegal activities. The minister was summoned by Afghan parliament on Monday to brief lawmakers for his alleged comments regarding lawmakers involvement in illegal activities including smuggle of alcohol, fuel and flour from neighboring countries.

Haji Zahir Qadir Zakhilwal has continuously requested for financial aid from him to support “Peace Convoy” course. He has imported flour worth 269 million dollars in 4.485 trucks illegally during the past two years.

Hamidzai Lalai is importing 50 bottles of alcohol from Moscow and he has threatened a customs official to death after his illegal activities were disclosed 20130513. Lalai had asked Zakhilwal to allow license plates to be issued to several hundred imported vehicles with right-hand steering wheels, while the Council of Ministers had barred the import of these cars.

Samiullah Samim representing Farah province of Afghanistan was accused of fuel and alcohol smuggle by Afghan finance minister Hazrat Omer Zakhil. He said the lawmaker called from Germany and requested him to release five oil tankers which were seized for the smuggling of fuel in Farah province.

The customs officers of Paktia and Paktika provinces were fired from their positions but Paktika lawmaker Mahmood Khan Sulaiman sent him money and requested to re-appoint his son as Paktika customs officer.

Mohammad Azim Mohsini representing Baghlan province was accused for requesting the finance ministry to give him residences in Pul-e-Khumri city which belong to Pul-e-Khumri textile factory.

Arif Rahmani representing eastern Ghazni province for requesting the finance ministry to receive money and contracts with the Supreme Company or he would do something.

 

Meanwhile Afghan lawmakers accused finance minister for similar illegal activities but Hazrat Omer Zakhilwal vowed to resign from his position if the allegations against him were proved to be true.

Zakhilwal also said that Afghan lawmakers cases have been forwarded to Afghan attorney general office for further legal actions.
