3. Biodata:
Haji Muhammad Akbar, son of Haji Sultan, was born in 1958 in the sixth municipal district of Faryab province. He completed his primary, intermediate and secondary education in 1979 in Maimana, the provincial capital of Faryab. He enrolled in the Faculty of Economics of Kabul University in 1980. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1983, and between 1984 and October 1987 he served as the director of economy and planning in Faryab. In October 1987, he was drafted into the military and served his term until February 1990. After completing his service, he received his completion certification for his services from the Platoon of Communications, 35th Regiment of the 18th Infantry Division. Wahdat served as the director of a commercial company from February 1990 to July 2005. He has traveled to Turkey, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, India, Uzbekistan, China and Dubai for business. He also went to Saudi Arabia in 2003 for the Haj pilgrimage. Wahdat was indirectly elected to the Meshrano Jirga through the 2005 provincial council elections in Faryab. He is not a member of any political party. He is married and has nine children. He speaks Pashto, Dari and some English.
