Mawlawi Lotfollah Azizi, chief of Takhar provincial council (2005)

Two people, including Maulvi Azizi  were injured in a bomb blast in northern Takhar province, police and a relative said on 20111109. The explosion took place inside in the Hujra of Maulvi Lotfullah Azizi, injuring Azizi and a guest, relative Habibullah said. Azizi was meeting guests at the guest house when a former Taliban commander, Maulvi Alamgir, carrying explosives in a plastic bag, arrived there, he said. The man placed the bag behind Azizi. The relative said Azizi and a guest, Pahlawan Aman, sustained injuries in the blast and the guest house damaged. Maulvi Alamgir might be encouraged by the Taliban to kill Azizi, police officer, Maj. Mahmodul Hassan, said.
