Teacher at the German Organisation for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) School in Kachagaray Refugee Camp in Peshawar, Pakistan (1992-2002) and editor of the “Zani Afghan” monthly magazine’s Pashto page and also edited the Pashto page in the “Khabri” Urdu-language newspaper.
Head of the Department of Women’s Affairs in Khost province (2003-2005) and  she directed the Afghanistan Development Association (ADA) Women’s Fast Learning Program in Khost during the same period.

3. Biodata:
Sharif_SaheraSahira Sharif Daughter of Muhammad Karim was born 1961 in Ismael KhelMandozai District, Khost Province. Sharif graduated from Aryana High School in Kabul in 1980. She has a bachelor’s degree in Educational Science from Kabul University, which she earned in 1985. In 1986 she joined the Academy of Science of Afghanistan and became a professional member of the organization in 1987. She got her master’s degree in Educational Science from Kabul University in 1991.

Saira Sharif is the mother of Sharif Zadran, a member of the academy of sciences.
 

She worked at the Academy of Sciences, on the faculty at Sheikh Zayed University, as Khost Director of Women’s Affairs, as editor in chief of a monthly publication for Afghan women, and as the head of Koranai-Zhewand, a program on Khost radio. She also once ran the Pashto section of a Peshawar newspaper. Sharif lived in Pakistan during the Taliban regime.

Zahera Sharif, was a Wolesi Jirga Member (2005) and university professor, is reportedly the only woman candidate actively campaigning for the 2010 elections in Khost. She sat in the Education Committee. Being the sister of Gen. Sher Muhammad Karimi, the chief of staff of the Afghan National Army, was of course of some help in arranging for a better level of security than most candidates can attain. She is described as a women's rights activist. During the 2009 presidential election, she supported Ashraf Ghani.

Asked about rumours that she often fails to show up to the Wolesi Jirga, she rejected the allegations and said, "When there is no specific agenda in the house, I stay home. I prefer to stay home and individually meet my constituents and solve their problems." Expressing discontent with the performance of Wolesi Jirga, she added, "Unfortunately Parliament has become place of traitors. A number of MPs are involved in land grabbing, some follow their personal interests, and there are some smugglers.

Sahera Sharifi received 2,544 votes in Wolesi Jirga Election 2018 and got a seat in WJ 2018.

She is married and has two sons and two daughters.
 

She speaks Dari in addition to her native Pashto,  English and a little Urdu.
