3. Biodata:
Mr. Abdel-Ellah Sediqi is the Director of Legislation and Policies since late 2009. During the last 6 years before joining the IARCSC, he worked in legal advisory positions and as well as –progressively- in senior management positions. In 2004 he served as an advisor in the Ministry of Finance before he started working with UNDP parliamentary project during the first 3 years of the establishment of the Afghan National Assembly as consultant on legislative affairs and then as deputy project manager. In 2008 Mr. Abdel-Ellah Sediqi assumed the position of project manager for two years with a UNDP project strengthening the institutions of the center of government. Mr. Abdel-Ellah Sediqi was born in Kabul in 1976. He studied until 10th grade at Esteqlal Lycee in Kabul before leaving Kabul for Peshawar where he completed his secondary education in Esteqlal Lycee in asylum. He then worked for 5 years in Pakistan as language teacher and librarian in Afghan refugees’ educational and cultural centers before leaving Pakistan in 1998 for his higher studies. Mr. Abdel-Ellah studied law and public administration in France (BA in Law, Masters Degree in Public Law –with honors- in 2004, and Diploma in Public Administration from the French National School of Administration in early 2004) before returning home in 2004. Mr Abdel-Ellah Sediqi’s has received specialized trainings in governance matters including project management, organizational reform, parliamentary functioning, sub-national governance and advance legal drafting. He has also participated as auditor and as speaker in different international conferences about the Afghan legal and institutional landscape. Besides the official languages of the country, he is familiar with English, French and classical Arabic.
