Construction of Kosh Tepa canal is of a big interest.The length of the new canal will be 285 km, its width - 100 meters, depth - 8.5 meters. The canal originates from the Amu Darya River in Kaldar district, Balkh province. Water will be taken into the canal from the same river. The channel's capacity will be 650 cubic meters per second.Construction of Kosh Tepa canal began in March 2022. The first section of the canal, 108 km long, was completed and filled with water on May 19, 2023.
