Construction of the Sanofarma Medicine factory began at least 2016 in Aino Mina town in Kandahar and is still ongoing.

Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment official said that the factory will start producing medicine in 2022.

The medicine factory in Kandahar will be the largest medicine station in Afghanistan. Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health said that the factory would be able to produce up to one ton of medicine per day. Health experts say the opening of the factory will greatly reduce Afghanistan’s need for medicine made in other countries.(20211014)
