Paktika Shaheen fiber producing factory

Paktika Shaheen fiber producing factory started its operation in Kabul.

Background:
Two million dollars have been invested in the factory having the capacity to produce seven tons fiber in a day, adding empty water and other beverages bottles are used as raw material for producing fiber in the factory and is expected to provide employment opportunities for nearly 300 workers. Afghanistan's first synthetic fiber manufacturing plant will recycle used plastic bottles to make fiber for artificial cotton and carpets.

Officials of the new recycling plant expressed concerns about the shortage of electricity and land to keep the factory operational year-round. The management does not have ownership of the land, it has been taken on lease. The factory is also facing a serious shortage of electricity.
