3. Biodata
Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi Mawlavi Amir Khan Mottaqi Amir Khan Motaghi, son of late Haji Nadir Khan, was born 1971 in Zarghoon village, Nad Ali district, Helmand Province. (Other source:Amiir Khan Mutaqi was born in Shin Kalai village, Zurmat District, Paktia province). His ancestors hail from Paktia province and settled in Helmand province decades back.. Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi took on primary education in a local school and masjid. Following the coup d’etat of the communists and the Soviet invasion, he was forced to seek refuge with his family in Pakistan at the age of nine. He studied Arabic grammar, logic, rhetoric, jurisprudence, hadith, tafsir and other popular sciences in various Afghan refugees’ religious schools and graduated with a degree in religious studies.

He is an important Taliban official who held various posts in the past, including minister of Information and Culture. His current whereabout is said to be somewhere in Pakistan. He was the Taliban representative in UN-led talks under the Taliban regime.

Another person being suspected of leaking the information about a posh house in Shirpur where al-Zawahiri stayed in Kabul and was killed by a drone strike is Afghanistan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. Muttaqi has properties, real estate and many other business interest in Pakistan.(20220803)

Amiir Khan Mutaqi was born in Shin Kalai village, Zurmat District, Paktia province. But reportedly lived in Banaras Road in Karachi, Pakistan. He was the head of the Cultural Shura of Quetta. Amir Khan Mutaqi was removed from his post as Taliban leader for cultural and information affairs due to the negligence he committed to share the information among the Taliban ranks. Mutaqi has now been appointed as the chief of staff of the Taliban group supreme leader Mawlavi Hebatullah Akhundzada’s office.(20180619)

Muttaqi was wounded in an airstrike that targeted a gathering of Taliban leaders in Langai village in Nawa district, Ghazni Province. Muttaqi, Mullah Khalifa and Mullah Shah Mohammad, both members of the Quetta Shura; Mullah Yusuf, Taliban’s designated shadow governor for Ghazni; and Mullah Sayed Almas, Taliban’s designated shadow governor for Paktia, were present at the gathering.It is said 24 Taliban members were killed and 17 others were wounded in the airstrike. According to initial information, Muttaqi, Khalifa, Shah Mohammad and Mulalh Yusuf were among the wounded.(20180712)
