The Regional Economic Cooperation and Connectivity Council is entrusted with drawing up and implementing those national programs which are all-inclusive of regional connectivity and technological dimensions. The successful implementation of these projects will culminate in national peace, progress, economic development, creation of employments, proper exploitation of natural resources, environmental protection, food immunity, improvement of stability, strengthening of national security and improvement of living standards of the citizenry.

 

Connectivity can contribute to economic development in five ways:

 

  • Direct Employment
  • Contribution to development of gross domestic products (GDP)
  • Introduction of modern services and industrial emergence
  • Transfer of workforce
  • Commercial modernization

 

Objectives of Regional Economic Cooperation and Connectivity Council:

  • The ministries and government entities are responsible for providing suitable, common and comprehensive guidelines, providing recommendations for creating systematic frameworks to conveniently carry out the tasks and following suggestions on drawing up and implementing policies and strategies.
  • Stressing independence in each step of these programs, be it the map-out, implementation, progress, safety and maintenance of these programs
  • The implementation of these programs aided by different ministries can bring about fundamental reforms in national economy which can lead to national tranquility.
  • To provide suggestions and consultations on ways of changing government missions as well as vision of the President on strategic priorities for technology
  • To properly use budget in projects
  • To assess strategies, plans and activities of member ministries regarding technology and provide recommendations and suggestions
  • To share information regarding progress of specific projects and the activities pertinent to them with other ministries and Directorate of Land in order to enhance coordination
  • To provide and manage projects related to infrastructure and report to the cabinet for discussion and decision-making
  • To provide plans and consultations on technology and the ways of service delivery, to work for and support these programs and bolster relations among the key institutions
  • To maintain and protect technology projects and monitor implementation of activities and to draw up policies aimed at protecting national properties
  • To create a national technical vision and to direct all dimensions of government technological facilities
  • To monitor national policies ensuring cyber security against cyber-attack (intentional and unintentional) on government information, resultantly preventing the dire consequences stemming from cyber-attack
  • To ensure protection of the equipment and processing of soft wares and networks and to protect the information being transferred and kept
  • To recommend and adopt policies preventing codes used for theft of confidential government information, which can lead to systems being protected.
  • To predict essential changes in technology and to ensure safety of national stance in times of competition and react accordingly
