wardak_asilaAsila Wardak Jamal Asela Wardak Asila Wardak Jamal was born 1977 in Afghanistan. Asila Wardak received her bachelor’s degree in the field of agricultural economy from the Kabul University before doing her master’s in international relations and diplomacy from the New Jersey University. She is one of the founders of the Afghan Women's Network. Asila Wardak joined ADB in March 2009. Prior to ADB, she worked as a Social Development Specialist for the World Bank and was engaged in short term consultancies with UN Organizations, International NGOs and York University on issues such as gender, transitional justice, community mobilization and project supervision. ( UNDP, UNAMA, CARE and the Canada Fund.)

She is the Director of Human Rights and International Women Affairs in Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011).
Asila Wardak has been re-elected for the second round of the Independent Human Right Commission (IPHRC) of OIC (organization of Islamic cooperation) for another term of three years.(20140602)

It is rumored Asila Wardak Jamal will be introduced as candidate-minister for MoHE instead of Khatera Afghan who made fake national ID card.(20150119)

Asila Wardak has been elected as a member of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC). Wardak received the most votes among the candidates from Asia, Africa and the Middle East during the election for OIC human rights commissioners. She is the first woman from Afghanistan to be appointed to the OIC commission.(20160413)
 

She has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul for the past seven years as head of human rights and international women’s affairs, as well as deputy permanent representative to the UN.
