3. Biodata:
Ahmadi_Baz_MohammadBaz Mohammad Ahmadi (Ahmady) earned a B.A. in Agriculture from Kabul University. He was the Governor of Ghor Province in Afghanistan, appointed in Summer, 2007. Ahmadi was a mid-level commander in the Jamiat Islami military alliance under Ahmed Massoud that fought in the civil wars that dominated Afghanistan after the withdrawal of Soviet occupation forces in the early 1990s.

After the American-led invasion of 2001, Ahmadi became a high-ranking Afghan defense department functionary, including a posting as Ismail Khan's replacement as military commander of Herat Province. General Baz Mohammed Ahmadi was in the Rushkhar military barracks in southern Kabul until August 16 , 2003, then corps commander for Herat Province.

Baz Mohammad Ahmadi is a member of Shuria-e Nazar. The party was founded by Ahmed Shah Masood, a Tajik, in an effort to offset the power of the Pashtun ethnic majority. The Shuria-e-Nezar group was a key player in the Afghan Civil war that followed the Anti-Soviet Jihad. After the Taliban were removed from power in 2001, this same group re-emerged in Afghan politics and has continued to seek power for their former Northern Alliance patrons. Many Afghan observers believe that groups like Shuria-e Nazar serve to alienate the Pashtun majority and inadvertently undermine U.S. anti-terror and counterinsurgency efforts in Afghanistan.

He is close with Marshal Fahim. Ahmadi has been accused of human rights violations by Human Rights Watch. Public Prosecution Department says a commission is to be set up to investigate corruption cases attributed to Baz Mohammad Ahmadi and others. (20100315)
