3. Biodata:
 Pohand Abdullah Haqaiqi, son of Haji Aka Mir Jan, was born 1939 in the city of Charikar in Parwan province. In 1945, he enrolled in Noman High School. He graduated in 1957, and in 1958 he was admitted to the Kabul University Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. In 1960, the college was converted to the Faculty of Economics and he graduated with a degree in economics, earning high honors. Immediately afterwards, he was appointed as an instructor in the same college. In 1963, he was sent to West Germany to pursue his higher education at the University of Colgne (Köln). In 1968, after receiving a master’s degree in economics with an emphasis in financial affairs, he returned to Kabul University, where he was reappointed as a instructor in the Faculty of Economics. Haqaiqi was promoted to the academic rank of pohanmal in 1971 and to the rank of pohandoy in 1974. In 1977, he earned the rank of pohanwal and by 1983, he earned the level of pohaand, or tenured professorship. In 1970, he received a High Medal for Education from King Zahir Shah. Haqaiqi was also engaged in the following activities: Member of the Constitutional Council of the Afghanistan from 1990 to 1991 (beyond rank – in terms of official government ranking system), Member of the Grand Economic Council of the Cabinet from 1988 to 1990, Chair of the Commission on the Compilation of Higher Education Institution Laws in 1988, Chair of the Commission on Economic Affairs in the Office of the President in 1992, He has served on dozens of commissions at Kabul University, the Ministry of Higher Education, Office of Administrative Affairs of the President, Ministry of Finance and various banks. He has also taught Islamic subjects in private education institutions, and he taught Islamic economics in the Faculty of Economics of the Kabul University. Haqaiqi has compiled many books on fiscal and financial issues, and he has written hundreds of academic articles in well-known magazines. He was invited by the Bochum University of West Germany (the West Germany Exchange Programme - DAAD) as a guest professor for an academic seminar in 1976. He was also invited by the same university to visit Germany’s academic institutions for a period of one month in 2003. Haqaiqi was appointed to the Meshrano Jirga by the President in 2005. He is not a member of any political party.

He is married and has five children.
