Background:
The acting governor of Da Afghanistan Bank has called for expanded cooperation from the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) to help improve the management of Afghanistan’s banking sector. Afghanistan's status of membership to IFSB is Observer.

According to a statement released today, Noor Ahmad Agha, acting governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, led a delegation to the IFSB’s 23rd annual meeting, held July 1–3 in Rabat, Morocco. The event was hosted by Bank Al-Maghrib (Morocco’s central bank) and attended by governors, deputy governors, and representatives from 34 central banks of Islamic countries.
