Acting Prime Minister and Political Deputy, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, stated in a meeting 20230615 with Sheikh Abdul Wahid Tariq, the head of Jihadi Madrassas, that Jihadi Madrassas should also allocate space for research and development in the field of Islamic sciences, alongside teaching.

Sheikh Abdul Wahid Tariq mentioned in the meeting that new jihadi madrassas were established in five provinces this year and have enrolled the Taliban. Sheikh Tariq added that the activity and curriculum procedures of the General Directorate of Jihadi Madrassas have been prepared and will soon be implemented under the supervision of religious scholars.

He said that he is striving to provide high-level education in Jihadi madrassas, and to accomplish this goal, a comprehensive and standardized curriculum is currently under development.
Sheikh Tariq also shared the plan of reconstructing the buildings of Jihadi madrassas in every province.

At the same time, Maulvi Abdul Kabir highlights the significance of Jihadi madrassas, emphasizing the need for well-established religious education centers within the country. He further emphasizes that the government is earnestly addressing this matter, recognizing it as a crucial aspect of the current times.

Maulvi Abdul Kabir advocates for the inclusion of modern sciences in the curriculum of religious madrassas, alongside religious subjects. This ensures that graduates from Jihadi madrassas possess the skills necessary to contribute to various institutions.

He emphasized that Jihadi madrassas should not solely depend on traditional teaching methods, but also actively encourage research and development in the realm of Islamic sciences.(20230615)
 

Taliban’s Acting Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir on Wednesday 20230615 said that religious school graduates do not have the potential to work for government institutions.

Prime Minister Kabir said, “Besides religious studies, modern sciences should also be added to the madrasa curriculum so that graduates could gain the required knowledge and work for government institutions as well.”

Mawlavi Kabir criticizes religious school graduates as the Taliban have predominantly appointed mullahs and religious clerks to key government posts including the governor of Afghanistan’s central bank, since their return to power.

According to the prime minister’s office, Mawlavi Kabir met with Sheikh Abdul Waheed Tariq, head of Taliban’s Jihadist Schools on Wednesday, during which Tariq discussed the construction of more Jihadist schools in Afghanistan.  

Referring to the Taliban regime’s special attention to establishing more religious schools, Kabir said, “Madrasas and religious schools are major requirements.”

Since the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021, the group has persistently built religious schools and madrassas throughout the country.

To expand religious schools, the ruling regime has converted several historical sites, schools and universities into Jihadist schools.

Previously, the Taliban group converted the Teacher Training Building of Samangan, Takhar Technical and Vocational Institute, Mitra TV building in Mazar Sharif City, Abdul Hai Habibi High School in Khost, Technical School in Kandahar, Babrak Khan Zadran High School in Gardiz City and many other buildings into Jihadi schools.
