She is an autodidact. She is a teacher and the founder and executive director of Learn an Afghan not-for-profit whose main focus is providing quality education to all children, especially girls. Pashtana has remained in Afghanistan since the Taliban’s return to power. Almost three years ago, Durrani realized the difficult access to information that many young Afghan women have when a cousin wanted to learn how to use a computer. Both, then, understood that there was a need for digital literacy in the country and, especially, in rural areas, where the connection is more complicated. This is how LEARN Afghanistan was born, a non-profit organization, where teaching materials and course plans are uploaded that are accessed without the need for an internet connection. The entity has already helped more than 700 girls to get an education, in a country where women's literacy is one of the lowest in the world.

Durrani has worked with the Creative Girls Initiative, the Online Model United Nations, and as a Youth Ambassador for Marie Stopes International. <span style="caret-color: rgb(71, 71, 71); color: rgb(71, 71, 71); font-family: " freight="" text="" pro";="" font-size:="" 20.799999237060547px;"="">Pashtana Durrani, head of the Afghanistan Education Foundation, has been awarded the “leadership of the Year” prize by the Swedish Tallberg Foundation.(20211110)

|
