Background:

Farang Gharu or Firing wa Gharu is a district in Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. It was created in 2005 from part of Khost wa Fereng District.

Taliban attacked the center of Farang district of Baghlan province Tuesday night, Sept 29, 2020 and after a short battle the Taliban were able to enter the police headquarters of the district. One policeman was killed and two others were wounded in the Taliban attack.The Taliban set fire to three police Ranger vehicles after entering the Farang district police headquarters and took away an armored tank and all the ammunition and equipment at the center. 

A part of the district building caught fire as a result of a rocket hitting the Farang district building.(20200930)
