During the Soviet-Afghan war and the Afghan civil war he served as a Commander in the Hezb-e Wahdat. Jirga]]. Before being elected as a MP, he served as Provincial Planning Official and District Governor of Balkhab District. (other source say Dara-e-Suf Payin District) In 2007 Fahimi was named as the Deputy Chairman of the Fifth Parliamentary Group, which was a coalition of MPs largely comprised of pro-government members of parliament in the Wolesi Jirga. Fahimi is close to Khalili.
He is married with seven sons. Fahemi speaks Dari, Pashto and some English. |

Mohammad Hussain Fahimi was born 1962 in Dushhak District, Sar-i-Pul Province. Fahemi received his bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies in Iran. He is currently (2012) a fourth class student of Law and Politics at the Kateb Private University in Kabul.
