3. Biodata:
General Abdul Qadir Ashna hails from Kunduz and is said to be highly educated and experienced in governance. He went to Shir Khan High School in Kunduz and studied at the Tashkent University. The proposal for Governor in Sar-e-Pul was approved by President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai. Ashna, who belongs to the Turkmen tribe, has served as director finance at the Defence Ministry.

He likes to read Mullah Nasruddin stories.

Ashna speaks Dari, Turkish/Turkmen and Russian languages.
