Afghanistan Natural Beverages was one of the pioneers in the bottled water business in Afghanistan, responding to an Afghan First economic initiative by then commander Lt Gen Karl Eikenberry to match Afghan suppliers with NATO forces needs.
As a result, the Tabiyat brand now supplies not only local forces, but individual civilians and commercial businesses, such as Safi Airways, are also customers. Afghan Natural Beverages is one of several Afghan companies, including Afghan Beverage Industries (ABI). The company produces a water brand called Cristal, as the Panjshir Beverage Industry, which meet rigid quality standards set by the US military.
