3. Biodata:
baryal_baqiAbdul Baqi Baryal, son of Muhammad Nawab Khan, was born in 1956 in the village of Dahbarka Ajristan District of Ghazni province. He completed his primary education in Ghazni. He completed his intermediate and secondary education at Ghazi High School in Kabul and central Baghlan. In 1979, he graduated from the faculty of journalism in Ukraine, following which he worked in a military publications department.

In 1982, Baryal lost both his eyes in a mine explosion accident. Despite the injury, he did not cease his cultural and artistic activities. As a result of hard work, he was able to obtain membership with the Writers' Association of Afghanistan. He learned Braille and, in 1998 with support from the Afghanistan Association for the Blind, he published a magazine called Bright Hearts. Baryal's poems and writings have been published by the Writers' Association of Afghanistan under the name of “Home Songs” and “Brightness.” Additionally, he has published books titled “Eyes and Desires,” “Love Never Dies” and “Autumn Ruins.” He was invited by the Writers Association of Russia in 1984 and he has traveled to Pakistan to participate in a conference. He has been to Germany in 1983 for medical treatment. While in exile, he worked with the SSBA in Pakistan until 2002, through which he was able to publish poems and writings in different magazines and papers. Abdul Baqi Baryal participated in the Emergency Loya Jirga and is the recipient of the Loya Jirga Medal. He was appointed to the Meshrano Jirga by the President.

He is a Member of the Handicapped, Disabled, Dependents of Mrtyrs and Refugees Commission 2010.

Amanullah Azimi were introduced to the upper house by President Ashraf Ghani and replaced Abdul Baqi Baryal.(20180916)
