3. Biodata:
Haji Obaidullah Barakzai, son of Muhammad Rasul, was born in 1959 in Chora district of Urozgan province. He belongs to the Barakzai Pashtun tribe. Barikzai finished his primary and secondary education in Chore district and graduated from twelfth class. He also studied Islamic theology. In 2016, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Political Science from the Bakhtar University in Kabul.
Barikzai was a jihadi commander in the war years. After 2001, he became a military commander in Kandahar. He worked as district governor of Chora District in Uruzgan province in 2006. Barikzai has been a tribal elder and worked as head of the Department of Tribes and Borders – both in Urozgan province – from 2007 to 2010, when he ran for parliament.
Barikzai is a member of Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan, a party he joined in 1982, and a member of the Saba (“dawn”) Parliamentary group.

In wolesi Jirga Election 2010 he received 2.251 votes and got seat in WJ 2010.
Obaidullah Barikzai was killed in an attack by unknown armed men in neighboring Kandahar province on Saturday Mar 23, 2019. He was attacked in Kandahar’s PD6 by unknown armed men.
He is married and has twenty-five children.
