The number of participants will be around 3,000 people and they will be divided into 16 categories, of which there will be members of parliament, provincial councils, civil society and representatives of the people.

Background:
President Hamid Karzai's Consultative Loya Jirga to be held around 16 November 2013 and to last 3 to 5 days., intended to determine the fate of the Kabul-Washington Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA), is set to be held sometime in mid November 2013 in Kabul. But with only weeks left even Sebghatullah Mujadadi, the Jirga's Chairman, has voiced reservations about the purpose of the gathering.(20131020)

Members of the commission selected and approved appointment of Prof. Nematullah Shahrani and Sayed Hamid Gailani as deputies of the Jirga.
