Ownership: In July 2011, Da Afghanistan Bank, the Central Bank of Afghanistan, has formally granted approval for the change of ownership of Afghan United Bank to Mr. Javid Jaihoon. Mr. Jaihoon, a young Afghan entrepreneur is a well-known business icon on a regional level. The Jaihoon’s family business has noticeable presence in the region and has strong business ties with many countries in the region that includes Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, karghizistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and UAE.

Background: Afghan United Bank was incorporated on October 4, 2007 as a full-fledged bank under the Banking License and Approval Letter from the Central Bank of Afghanistan, DA Afghanistan Bank, Kabul. The Bank was established with a paid capital AFS878/- million with its Head Office and Main Branch Located at Shar-e-Now, Kabul. The Bank is currently operating through 15 branches in Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat and Nimroz Provinces of Afghanistan. The bank is offering financial products and services in both Conventional and Islamic Banking. |
