General Ghulam Faruq Barakzai is a professional military man from Shindand; herat Province,  who was trained before 1978 and fought in the anti-Soviet jihad. The general’s background points to a possible connection with the deputy chair of the National Security Council and close Karzai ally, Engineer Ibrahim Spinzada.

LtGen Ghulam Farooq Barikzai Barekzai   has been named to take over the Bagram detention centre.(20120402) as Chief commander of Afghan Detention Operations Command at Parwan.
