3. Biodata:
During both the war against the Soviet regime and the ensuing Afghan Civil War, Azadi was a Mujahideen commander with Hezb-e-Jamiat Islami Afghanistan. Azadi was elected to parliament in 2005 with 15,840 votes, coming in second in the province. During this term, he served on the Internal Affairs commission. Azadi has family connections to the Balkh provincial governor, Ustad Atta Noor: hisnephew married into the governor’s family.
Abdo is a member of the governmental inter-parliamentary committee of the United States, United Kingdom and Iran, and a member of the Gopik Association.
He is married with two sons and two daughters. He speaks Dari and Pashto. |

Alhaj Alam Khan Azadi was born 1950 in Nahri Shah District, Balkh Province. Azadi graduated from high school with a twelfth class certificate. He got his bachelor’s degree in Islamic Education from Jamiatul Mustafa University, in Qom, Iran, in 2009. He is a well-known former commander in the area.
