Dawood Azimi Daud Azami migrated from Afghanistan via Pakistan to the UK. He has three Bachelor's and three Master's degrees including Science and International Relations and Diplomacy. Since 1998, he is working with BBC: Producer then Senior Producer and Editor, based in London. Since February 2010 his current position is in Kabul, Afghanistan. He is pecialised in politics, security and culture in central and south Asia and Middle East. Former Visiting Scholar teaching at Ohio State University, US. Recipient of awards: Global Reith Award for Outstanding Contribution, BBC (2009); first Allama Tarzai Award, Afghanistan (2010).
The World Economic Forum in Switzerland selected the Afghan journalist, Dawood Azami, as Young Global Leader (YGL) of the year 2011.
Dawood Azami has been selected as a European Young Leader under the first pan-European programme of leadership called ''40 UNDER 40''.(20121108)
