Gen Maj Afzal Aman said on 20120517  that Afghan security forces are sometimes forced to halt missions when the target turns out to have influential contacts in the Afghan government. His remarks hinted at a potentially far more enduring obstacle that widespread influence peddling and corruption might pose to basic military operations.

It's also rare to hear these concerns expressed so bluntly by a high-ranking member of the Afghan military itself. Gen. Afzal Aman assumed charge of the Kabul garrison command by retaining his current post as the deputy of the reserved armed forces of the ministry of defense. (20170622)

Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, met with several ex-government military generals.

Deputy PM Kabir said that the Islamic Emirate was willing to use the country’s generals’ experiences

The meeting, was attended by the deputy chief of staff, the commanders of the army and police corps, and the national security officials of the ex-administration.
