Dr. Said Ali Kazemi, s/o Said Gul, was born in 1971 in Surkh Parsa district, Parwan province, but currently lives in Qala-e-Fathullah, Kabul City. Kazemi graduated from Habibia High school in 1987. In 1992, he joined Kabul Medical University and continued till 1996, but was unable to finish due to the rise of the Taliban. He then immigrated to Iran and India and continued his studies in human sciences until 2002. He has a B.A..degree in sociology.
Sayid Ali Kazemi (Kabul) is the brother of the late MP and leader of Eqtedar-e Melli party, Sayid Mustafa Kazemi, who was killed in the 2007 attack on the Baghlan Sugar factory in Baghlan in 2007. After the death of his brother, Kazemi was elected by the central council of Hezb-e- Eqtedar Milli Afghanistan to lead the party. Currently (2012), Kazemi is the Editor-in-Chief of Eqtedar Milli’s weekly publication and a member of the leadership council of Dr. Abdullah’s Hope and Change Coalition.
He is married and has one son and one daughter.
