Mr. Mir Ahmad Javid was born into a dignified and reputable family in the Balkh province. He completed his primary education in Ghazi Amanullah High School in Balkh and his secondary education at Habibia High School. After graduating high school, he joined the Polytechnic Institute of Kabul, where he received a Masters degree. After completing his studies in Kabul, he began working in non-governmental organizations in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Mir Ahman Javid continued his studies in the United Kingdom. His obtained a post graduate degree in Management Studies from the University of Kent (UK) and a Masters degree in Social and Economic Studies in Development Management from Swansea University (UK) with honors. After successfully completing his Masters program, he enrolled in York University’s (UK) PhD Program in Political Science focusing in on State Building in Afghanistan. Mr. Javid spent a year and a half working towards his PhD before he decided to return to Afghanistan. He has been an Advisor to the Afghanistan National Development Strategy Office, as well as Pay and Grading Advisor to the Chairman of the IARCSC. He currently holds the position as the Director General of the Civil Service Management Department of Afghanistan where he is leading the Public Administrative Reform effort for the Civil Service Commission.
