Al-Haj Maulana Abdul Rahman Hakimi, son of Haji Noor Ahmad, was born in the provincial capital of Ghazni province in 1957. After completing his secondary education, he was admitted to the Faculty of Literature and Social Sciences of Kabul University. He holds bachelor's degree in history. Hakimi previously served as an advisor to the Parliament Ministry and he headed the People’s Council of Ghazni as well as the Consultative Council of Ghazni province. He was also an elected representative to the Emergency Loya Jirga and Constitutional Loya Jirga. In1983, he also served as an administrative staff member the professional reform department of the Kabul University Faculty of Law. Hakimi speaks Pashto, Dari and English. He is the recipient of an Emergency Loya Jirga Medal and a Constitutional Loya Jirga Medal. He spent time as a refugee in Pakistan. He is married and has five children. *Maulana Abdul Rahman Hakimi was appointed as a senator to the Meshrano Jirga by Presidential Decree No. 1581 dated 19 July 2006.
