3.Biodata:
Al-Haj Sayed Hamid Agha, son of Al-Haj Sayed Abdullah Khan (known as Aishan Beg Jan), was born in 1957 in the village of Haidar Abad of Aqcha district in Jowzjan province. He graduated from Aqcha High School in 1975 and beginning in 1978 he worked as a teacher in the district of Marian. In 1979, he joined the Jowzjan civil registration office. In 1980, he worked in the provincial communications office. Not long after, he was drafted into the Afghan army, but he deserted his post to join the Soviet resistance. In 1986, Sayed Hamid Agha immigrated to Peshawar, Pakistan where he lived for six years. After returning to Afghanistan, he served for three years in the Jowzjan Office of Social Affairs as the director of elders. He was also chairman of the Environmental Protection Commission for two years. He served as a volunteer in both positions. Beginning in 1997, Al-Haj Sayed Hamid Agha worked with UNICEF, WFP and various NGOs, including Goal, an international NGO. He has also worked as a manager for the National Solidarity Program in Aqcha district. He is a recipient of a Loya Jirga Medal. He was indirectly elected to the Meshrano Jirga through the 2005 Provincial Council elections in Jowzjan.

He is married and has seven children.

Al-Haj Sayed Hamid Agha speaks Dari, Pashto, Uzbeki and Turkmeni. He has a basic understanding of English.
