Ghareb_Ghulam_MohammadMaulavi Maulana Ghulam Mohamad Ghareb Mawlawi Ghulam Mohammad Gharib was born in Maruf district of Kandahar Province 1948. He did get his primary Islamic education in Kandahar city. In 1973 he went to Karachi city of Pakistan and got his degree in Feqa and Feta. In time of Mouqawamat he was deputy for justice minister. In transitional government he was appointed director in Haj and Owqaf ministry. In 2004 he was leader of Kandahar clergy association. In Dec 2006 he was appointed commissioner of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.

Nader Naderi, Human Rights Commissioner, Fahim Hakim, Mawlawi Ghulam Mohammad Gharib and two other members of the commission were sacked by the president over publishing a report about violation of human rights by some high ranking government officials and disagreements between the commission and the government and Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission as well as acting ministers' activities. According to the Independent Human Rights Commission Regulations, the president does not have the authority to sack it's commissioners.(20111222) The five years term in office of three top officials of Afghanistan Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has expired and President Hamid Karzai has rejected extension of service for another term.
