More Background:

Media reports state that Mohammad Haroon Hakimi, aged 33, is charged with rape following an accusation from a 27-year-old woman. She alleges that Hakimi, whom she had recently met and visited at his Woodbridge residence, assaulted her.

This situation not only highlights Hakimi’s prestigious past but also raises serious concerns over the allegations he currently faces.

Media reports indicate that the Prince William County Police Department responded to a call late Friday afternoon in the 12200 block of Grenada Way, Woodbridge. The call was in response to an incident that reportedly took place earlier that day.

According to the police, the woman was allegedly assaulted by Hakimi “whom she had recently met while at his residence.” She managed to escape the home and then contacted the police.

Hakimi was arrested on Saturday and charged with rape. As of March 11, information about his initial court appearance and bond status was not yet available.

Before the fall of the Afghan Republic in August 2021, Hakimi was serving as a ‘deputy minister’ in Afghanistan’s Ministry of Information and Culture.(20240313)
