3. Biodata:
Hadi Marifat studied Politics and International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the UK. He obtained his Master’s degree in Development Studies: Social Justice Perspective from the International Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Hadi has served as executive director of AHRDO since 2014. Hadi has worked as a country analyst with the Centre for Civilians in Conflict, researcher with Human Rights Watch, human rights officer with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, regional election coordinator with the Afghanistan Independent Election Commission and as an advisor to Save the Children Alliance.
He is an Afghan human rights activist. He co-founded and worked as director of the Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Organization. He has also worked as a country analyst with the Center for Civilians in Conflict, a researcher with Human Rights Watch.

Background:
Afghanistan Democracy and Human Rights Organization (AHRDO) was founded in 2009. The Organization aims to improve the human rights condition of Afghan citizens, contribute to the country’s democratic development, promote understanding and compliance with international humanitarian law in situation of armed conflict, design cultural and artistic initiatives to foster inter-ethnic and inter-community peace and communication, and develop public memory and recollection of millions of war victims as an antidote to the deep-seated culture of impunity and the profoundly ingrained ethos of war and violence in the country. AHRDO receives financial aid from European and other foreign Countries.
