Enayat_EnayatullahEnayat is an Uzbek-Pashtun from Maymana District , Faryab Province (of Uzbek descent with a Pashtun mother), Enayatollah has been reported to have had previous affiliations with HIG. However, despite his rumored past affiliations with HIG, he enjoys a close relationship with Karzai and former President Rabbani.

After his release 18 months later, Enayatullah fled to Pakistan and Australia, where he remained until Karzai asked him to participate in the Grand Loya Jirga in 2002. He was on the law faculty at Kabul University, and also served as a judge.

He had emigrated to Australia, but returned in 2002, and in 2004 was sent to Faryab as governor to counter Dostum's almost complete control of the province at the time. The Danish PRT rated him 2004: "He is not aligned with either the Jamiat or the Jumbish. He is a well-educated man who fully supports the central government. He is very concerned about the power held by the warlords and the destabilisising effect this has on law and order". Threatened by angry crowds in 20040411 he was forced to flee Maymana , the capital of Faryab Province. The ousted governor, Enayatullah Enayat, remained in hiding at the Turkmen border and said he feared for his life. Finally he resigned from his post because of local resistance. It is said that Uzbek warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum had engineered that affair.

From 2006 through 2007, he was Head of the Senior Appointment Panel and appears to want to continue to fulfill this function. Enayat was also a disputed Governor of Samangan Province. A protest demonstration involving members of the Parliament (MPs), scholars, locals and tribal elders in northern Samangan province sought immediate dismissal of the provincial governor. The demonstrators blocked Kabul-Samangan Highway near Eidgah Mosque in Karta-i-Khorasan area of the provincial capital Aibak (20090407). They accused the governor Qazi Inayatullah Inayat of his alleged involvement in corruption and negligence towards the problems facing the people of the province.
