3. Biodata:
Dr. Mohammad Latif Bahand was born 1957 and went to Habibia Lyceum in Kabul and studied later at Lomonosov State Universty Moscow. Bahand is an Artist and Writer. He also worked as a researchern with the afghan Center of Strategic Studies ACSS /AISS of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bahand has a reputation as a writer and he has written many books. He also translated many books from other languages into Pashto language. 2017 he translated Aram Don written by Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov in Russian language, to Pashto.

President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai has recalled ambassador to Russia Latif Bahand 09 August 2020. Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry reported the removal on 12 August 2020.
He was recalled due to the verbal instructions of the president. The reasons for this are not reported. Bahand, commenting on his removal, called diplomatic reshuffles a usual exercise and welcomed any decision from the president and MoFA in this regard. (20200812)
