3. Biodata:
MG Daulat Waziri Dowlat Waziri was born in the Khogyani district of Nangarhar province in 1954. He received a master’s degree in military science from Afghanistan’s Afghan military academy and has served in a broad variety of leadership roles within the Afghan National Army, including holding platoon, company, battalion, regiment and division command. Gen Dowlat Waziri serves as the Afghan Ministry of Defense Spokesman and as head of Strategic Communication and Public Affairs.

Waziri lives humbly in the Soviet era microrayon complex for Afghan National Army personnel. As a member of the Khalq division of the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan, Waziri experienced the Saur Revolution, and at one time accepted communist principles.  General Waziri chose to live in the Netherlands during the Taliban occupation. Clearly Waziri saw the aftermath of the soviet era and the byzantine occupation of the Taliban which replaced it. Waziri clearly grasped the delicate balance between Afghan tradition and modern reform. He knew reform had to come, but he was well aware, and so stated, that it must be done at Afghan pace with homegrown Afghan implementation. Incidentally, Waziri’s directorate was one of the few directorates in the Ministry of Defense who employed an educated female (BA journalism) in her field as a media analyst—that was saying a lot for Afghanistan.

Dawlat Waziri, a former spokesman for the Ministry of Defence on Sunday June 05, 2022 returned to the country in response to calls from the Reconciliation.(20220605)

Wazirir speaks Pashtu, Dari and English.
