The Afghan market Peshawar was purchased by the Afghan National Bank in 1943 from a local Hindu Chaman Das - who later migrated to India. One registry is done in 1944 and the other in March 1947 according to the records of Peshawar land and revenue office. (Other version: The area of the market is more than 12 kanals (65,340 square feet). The Afghan government purchased half of it in 1946 and the other half in 1947). Najibullah Khan Ahmadzai was born 1976 in Paktia and he is a Pashtun. He went to Zahir Shahi High School in Kandahar and got 12th Graduation (1997-2006).  He was awarded Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Haji Mirwais Khan Nika University, Kandahar (2012-2016). Ahmadzai  earned his Master’s degree in business administration from India.(2016-2018) He previously worked in the regional office of the Independent Election Commission in Paktia province, as well as he has experience of working with some private institutions.

Najibullah Ahmadzai resigned from his post amid mounting pressure from Afghan political parties. But IEC spokesman Gulajan Abdulbadi Sayad said that so far he has not received any official notification regarding the resignation of Ahmadzai nor has he received a letter from President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai calling for the IEC chief's resignation. This comes just few days after Ghani sacked Imam Mohammad Warimach, head of the Independent Election Commission’s (IEC) secretariat over ‘poor performance’.(20171108)

Five IEC commissioners, Abdul Badi Sayad, Wasima Badghisi, Maliha Hassan, Mazaullah Dawlati and Abdul Qadir Quraishi, have called for the IEC Chairman Najibullah Ahmadzai to be fired over a range of issues including poor performance and misuse of authority. they have reviewed Ahmadzai’s activities and have concluded that he has worked against national interests, against the election law, has been negligent in his duties and has misused his authority. The commissioners believe that as long as Ahmadzai is in that position, the election process will move at a slow pace. They said the president needs to nominate a replacement for Ahmadzai. (20171114)

President Ashraf Ghani has removed Najibullah Ahmadzai as head of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and Ahmadullah Alizai as his advisor through a decree. (20171115)
