1. Natural Resources Monitoring Network (NRMN):  Dr Ibrahim Jafari (20160506)

The Natural Resources Monitoring Network (NRMN) aims to facilitate effective coordination, advocacy, and monitoring efforts of civil society organizations and individuals in the extractives sector. The goal is to ensure peaceful and sustainable utilization of natural resources of Afghanistan. The NRMN was founded on 19 December 2012. The network includes 31 important gender-oriented Afghan civil society activists and organizations. Coordination and management of the Network is periodic and at the moment Integrity Watch Afghanistan is the coordinating body.

2. Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA):

Having 30 employees and 250 volunteers, the Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA) was established in 2006 as an independent civil society organization. It’s headquarters is in Kabul but it covers Balkh, Bamyan, Herat, Nangarhar, Logar and Parwan provinces as well. Following are its activities: Community based monitoring, monitoring public services, monitoring of industries extraction, community trial monitoring and assessment of the budget. This organization is monitoring the mechanisms of industries extraction established international standards. The IWA has its board member of Afghanistan Extraction Industries Transparency Initiative (AEITI).

3. Afghanistan Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (AEITI).
The Afghanistan Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (AEITI) was set up in a move to help promote efficient and effective management of revenues generated from extraction in Afghanistan in line with international standards. The AEITI enables the management and use of revenue in accordance with the EITI principles and criteria, such as transparency, inclusiveness and openness in the management of extraction resources. As Afghanistan has vast natural resources of fuel and gas. In Norway back in February 2010, Afghanistan was accepted as a nominee by board members of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and at the same time (AEITI) secretariat was established at the Afghan Finance Ministry and Afghanistan promised that all revenues under AEITI will be made transparent.The AEITI, which comprises government and national and private companies headed by Finance Minister Zakhilwal and meet quarterly.

4. Independent Joint Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC):
During the 2010 a London and Kabul international conference, the Afghan government suggested the international community to create an independent Afghan-International anti-corruption committee. The suggestion was accepted by the international community and under presidential decree 61 by incumbent President Karzai in 2011, the MEC was established. There are six experts members working with MEC with three of them national and three international. The members are being selected through agreed procedure by Afghanistan and the international community. The committee is headed by one of its members after each six months. The Independent Joint Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) is independently monitoring and evaluating national and international efforts to fight corruption in Afghanistan. It reports to the public, parliament, president, and international community.

5. Afghanistan Research and Social Change Organization (ARSCO):
ARSCO is a non-governmental, non-profitable and non-political organization, which is established in 2011 and registered with the ministry of economy. It is formed by some professional civil society activists and university teachers. The mission of ARSCO is to promote peace, human rights and long lasting development in Afghanistan through enhancing a dynamic and capable civil society as a means to foster local ownership of development, dignity and a peaceful & sustainable future for all Afghans. ARSCO conducts accurate research in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. It believes that raising voice of rural and the most vulnerable communities is critical for accurate research, human rights work, design well-known and tangible advocacy programs to influence policy formulation and its implementation. Also, this organization has the membership of Afghanistan Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (AEITI), Multi Stakeholder Group (MSG) and National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN).

6. Afghanistan Young Green:
Founded in 2013, the Afghanistan Young Green (AYG) is a none political organization. The AYG works in the area of youth capacity building, identification of challenges faced by youth, exploration of employment opportunities and conducting surveys.
The AYG is active with its main office in the capital Kabul and two provincial offices each in Bamyan and Daikundi. The AYG has membership of Global Young Green and work internationally.

6. Heinrich Boll Stiftung (HBS):
The Heinrich Boll Stiftung (HBS) is a German Foundation. It is a political organization and founded to counter the waves of socialism, liberalism and conservatism. The HBS is functioning in more than 30 countries with its main office in Berlin, the capital of Germany. It begins functioning in Afghanistan in 2003 to strengthen democracy, support the nascent peace and spread awareness about environmental degradation among masses. Since 2005, the HBS has started working for the protection of ecology. It has published several articles and pamphlets regarding the protection of environment and natural reservoirs. The Hasht-i-Subh newspaper publishes its articles. In addition, the HBS works for the capacity building of institutions that functions in the area of environmental protection during mining of natural reservoirs in Bamyan, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul and Logar provinces.

7. The Liaison Office (TLO):
The TLO is none political and none governmental Afghani organization. It was established in 2003 after the tribal elders decided to help government in building durable peace and stability in the country. TLO has offices in 25 provinces of the country with its main office in Kabul. It has 71 employees and four additional offices in the capital. TLO works for the social stability, good governance, justice and establishment of peace in Afghanistan. After obtaining membership of Civil Society Natural Resources Monitoring Network (CSNRM), TLO has started functioning in the mining sector in collaboration with CSNRM.
