Background:
5th zone border police in the North and North-eastern changed name to border zone 806 in Balkh. Zone number five has been established 1388 solar year and has changed name to zone 806 border zone of Balkh after five years.

These changes have been brought in all border zones and 806 border zone is one of those zones. Number 806 border police covers nine North and North-eastern provinces so that now totally 27 small and big units are under their control.
5th Northern Border Police Zone has a 2,431 km-long border; the number of personnel was not enough. There are almost around 700 personnel of a quick reaction unit and some other staff, who are inside Mazar-e Sharif city, at the airport. The border, which is 2,431 km, is a wide area in fact, there should be four companies in each battalion at least and they must have armour weaponry. In total, around 2,000 more personnel are needed  to cover the area. The current staff of the border police of this zone do not meet requirements and an increase of the number of these forces to more than 6,000 personnel seem to be necessary. (20110710)
